Sentence Complexity Analysis in Selected Students’ Scientific Papers: A Closer Look on Abstract Section

Abstract. Abstract is an essential part of a scientific paper. However, according to the finding researchers working in repository at (UIN) Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh, many students still do not comply with rules for writing papers. This study aims analyze types sentence complexity thesis abstracts UIN Aceh and level use papers by Aceh. used qualitative approach descriptive content analysis methods. The data were obtained from Repository through purposive sampling. analyzed using Miles Huberman’s method. result shows four abstract writing, namely simple (24.58%), compound (25.97%), complex (26.25%,) compound-complex Sentence (23.19 %). student includes sentences containing independent clause + noun clause, adjective adverbial clause. contributes improving skills students' ability writing.Keywords: writing; papers; complexityAbstrak. Abstrak merupakan bagian terpenting dalam sebuah karya ilmiah. Menurut temuan peneliti dari repositori masih banyak mahasiswa yang tidak mematuhi aturan penulisan Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis jenis kompleksitas kalimat abstrak skripsi dan tingkat penggunaan ilmiah oleh Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis deskriptif isi. Data diperoleh melalui teknik pengambilan sampel purposive. dianalisis Huberman. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat empat terdiri atas sederhana 24,58%, majemuk 25,97%, kompleks 26,25%, majemuk-kompleks 23,19%. Tingkat kerumitan menulis mengandung Temuan memberikan kontribusi meningkatkan keterampilan kemampuan ilmiah.Kata kunci: kalimat; ilmiah;
